Course overview:

The biodynamic view of osteopathy in the cranial field recognises that the embryological forces, that created the embryo, are also the forces of growth and development and the sustaining restorative forces throughout life. Working with these therapeutic, homeostatic forces, the practitioner is able to observe the reorganization of the body as a whole, through the internal disengagement and transmutation within tissue, fluid and potency

Phase I will cover
  • Identifying osteopathic OCF biomechanical, functional and biodynamic methodologies through: Start points and end points.
  • Motion testing vs motion permitted vs ‘motion present’
  • The physiology of the lesion field
  • Thoracic and Primary Respiration Biodynamic methodology of Patient’s Neutral
  • Synchronisation with the Health
  • The prevention of side effects. Rebalancing
  • C.N.S embryological development, metabolic fluid fields, motion and function
  • Natural Disengagement within: Tissue –balanced Membranous tension (B.M.T) Fluid - Balanced Fluid Tension (B.F.T.)
  • Fluid fulcrums, Intra-osseous lesions and patterns of motion.

CPD:

Providing 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (20 hours CPD)

20 hours postgraduate education (Category 1) approved with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand.

Since November 2011, the Osteopathic Board of Australia (OBA) requires self directed and osteopathically relevant CPD for annual registration for osteopaths in Australia.
The OBA does not accredit CPD activities, such as training courses and lectures. The OBA’s view is that accrediting CPD is complex and resource intensive and has the effect of limiting the range of available training and significantly raising attendance costs. (ref. 3.6 OBA CPD guidelines).
However, the professional body AOA's educational committee has endorsed this course for AOA members.
A certificate of 20 hours CPD will be provided at the end of the course.
This can then be presented, as part of your personal CPD portfolio, towards the OBA requirements of 25 annual hours of self directed CPD.
The OBA annual 25 CPD hour requirement also includes 4 hours of mandatory topics approved by the Board.
See OBA web site for further information on CPD guidlines and mandatory topics.
